What we do
We support the youth IN becoming social entrepreneurs. Turning job seekers into job creators.
We are enthusiastic about the future of the African youth with a potential to change their communities in sustainable ways. Join us as a financial supporter, volunteer or as a mentor.
Our Programs in East Africa
- Capacity building (Direct training of youth in business skills and ethics and practical project skills, hands on seminars and workshops, networking and mentorship) 1 months training.
- Youth farming programs
Unemployment among the youth is a great challenge to not only African countries but globally. Every year, youth graduate from high institutions only to join their counterparts in job seeking.
One of the greatest challenge for the youth is the lack of capital, meaningful contacts and business skills. In rural areas especially, better education in agriculture and new technologies would help address the skills mismatch.
That is why SCAFRICA trains youth in practical business skills and ethics and supports them with starting up their enterprises. We train, mentor and offer practical start up support through youth farms.
We focus on young people between the ages of 18-35 because young people frequently lack the resources to start up their own business. Young people already make up as much as 40% of the world’s total unemployed. In Africa, 60% of the unemployed are between 15 to 24 years.
